Hello and welcome to the Archbold Biological Station education blog! Maybe you went on a field trip here and had a great time. Or maybe you’ve heard of us and are considering a visit. But if you’re trying to learn more about Archbold Biological Station, you’re in the right place.
Archbold’s Mission: to build and share the scientific knowledge needed to protect the life, lands, and waters of the heart of Florida and beyond.
A Natural Laboratory: Located in Venus, FL, Archbold’s field station is a natural laboratory for visiting biologists and students studying the region’s rare plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth.
A Working Facility: Although Archbold is a working facility, we welcome visitors. Options for guests include: touring the Frances Archbold Hufty Learning Center, a LEEF® Certified Platinum building; exploring nature’s laboratory on one of our short self-guided nature hikes; or learning about our historic buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Visiting Hours: The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. Call for holiday hours or if you are interested in pricing and availability for a private guided nature tour.
